It has been 15 years. We refuse to forget.
It has been 15 years since a cowardly attack on our nation was executed on an otherwise beautiful September morning.
It has been 15 years since Islamic terrorists escalated their war against liberty.
In a dark and fallen world, there are those who hate the light of liberty that has shone from the American continent since 1776. Yet despite their efforts, that light has yet to be extinguished.
There are those even in our own nation who despise the American Exceptionalism that has defined the last century. They hate that America defeated the forces of fascism and communism. They hate that America has stood for liberty. They hate that America has inspired countless millions to cast off the shackles of ideological slavery in favor of self-governance.
They have turned their back on the flag, spat at our soldiers, snarled at our National Anthem. A long line of traitors and cowards – from Benedict Arnold to Colin Kaepernick – have knelt before foreign potentates and murderous ideologies, but they have always failed.
Americans still stand defiantly against the raging seas of totalitarianism.
Americans still stand boldly for self-governance.
Americans still stand strongly with those who seek nothing but their own liberty.
And because Americans do, the torch of liberty shines brightly.
In another 15 years, in another 240 years, America will still be that shining city on the hill, that beacon of liberty, as long as Americans still stand.
