Barkley believes the fans hold too much power regarding the picks for the All-Star game. That is completely fine, but instead of articulating a well thought out, professional, sports based answer, Barkley instead let his political beliefs bleed into another segment of a sports show.
The ‘Inside the NBA’ co-host’s comparison between All-star voting and U.S. presidential voting is not only moronic, it’s completely one sided and insulting. Charles Barkley actually sat on live TV and insulted half the population by saying the average American has awful judgement.
As TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA panel talked about the game, Barkley abruptly interrupted and said, “I don’t like the fans voting.”
Kenny Johnson, Barkley’s co-host, was obviously taken back, simply reasoning with Barkley by saying, “But you’re a fan!”
At that point, another co-host, Ernie Johnson, added the fact that fans have been voting for NBA All-Stars for a while: “Get used to it, it’s only been happening your entire life.”
But Barkley grew increasingly stubborn. He went on to say, “That don’t make it right. Look what happened last time we let them make a big decision. Get a clue: White House.”
After Barkley’s comments were made, it was obvious the other co-hosts were completely shocked by Charles’s comments. Making it clear that Barkley’s suggestion that Americans should have their vote taken away because Charles Barkley doesn’t like the choice of president is purely ridiculous. “So you should take that vote away from the fans too?” said Johnson.
This is not the first occasion of Barkley bashing President Trump, nor is it his first time pushing ONE SIDED politics on a SPORTS show. Only a few months ago, he said he was “angry and disgusted” with the Trump era of presidency. Most will also find it unsurprising to see Charles Barkley attack voters in any situation. The former NBA All-Star was heard slamming the “ignorant” voters in Alabama who were so happy to get a visit from the president.
Charles Barkley remains another political pawn for the lacking liberal left, even campaigning vigorously to defeat the Republican Senate candidate during the 2017 election in his home state of Alabama. When will these people get a clue, keep your BS politics out of sports!!!
