This deliberate scheduling by the Dems prevents Bernie Sanders from being active on his campaign trail, specifically from attending his primary events in Iowa, which starts this February. Sanders will almost automatically miss out on campaigning time due to the likeliness of serving as a juror during the Senate presidential impeachment trial.
President Trump wasn’t fooled by the Democratic party’s shady, undermining tactics, outing their intentions with a series of tweets earlier today. Trump pointed out the fact Speaker Nancy Pelosi was helping Joe Biden lock up a Democratic candidate spot by “timing impeachment votes,” to keep Bernie Sanders and other Dem candidates within D.C. parameters.

Nancy Pelosi continues to deny any allegations of intentionally aiding a candidate, adding that "politics" wasn’t a factor in the timing of the Senate’s presidential impeachment hearing. According to TheHill, Pelosi argues that the Democratic party is holding onto impeachment articles to help solidify a "fair trial" to the Senate.
Bernie Sanders has already voiced his concerns, believing he is missing out on valuable campaign time while he sits on an impeachment trial, which inevitably will be thrown out by the Senate.

“I would rather be in Iowa today. There’s a caucus there in 2 1/2 weeks. I’d rather be in New Hampshire and Nevada and so forth. But I swore a constitutional oath as a United States senator to do my job and I’m here to do my job,” Said Sanders.
President Trump previously accused the DNC of rigging elections against Sanders, specifically during the 2016 primary against the less than honorable, Hillary Clinton. Previous DNC Emails were leaked, proving the elites of the Democratic party was extremely biased towards Bernie and provided ways to help guarantee Clinton locked up the official 2016 nomination.
