On Monday morning President Donald Trump blessed the world with a much needed tweet, criticizing Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her inappropriate comments about Israel, and the events that transpired during the holocaust.
“Democrat Rep. Tlaib is being slammed for her horrible and highly insensitive statement on the Holocaust. She obviously has tremendous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. Can you imagine what would happen if I ever said what she said, and says?” Said President Trump via Twitter.
President Trump’s tweet comes specifically as a response to Rashida Tlaibs comments in a Yahoo “Skulldugery” podcast, in which she said she gets a "kind of calming feeling" when she thinks back upon the holocaust. Tlaib believes the role of her Palestinian ancestors played a factor in creating “a safe haven for Jews” after the Nazi’s horrific persecution. Via the Daily Wire.
"There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports," said Rep. Tlaib on the "Skullduggery" podcast. Via CNN.
"I mean, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time, and I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways,"
"But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away, right, and it was forced on them. And so when I think about a one-state, I think about the fact that, why couldn't we do it in a better way?" Continued Tlaib.
The comments from the congresswoman were absolutely disgusting and moreover factually incorrect. It was actually the Palestinians who allied with Nazi Germany during WW2. According to the Daily Caller, Muhammad Amin al-Husayni, the Palestinian Grand Mufti at the time was good friends with Adolf Hitler and helped spread the vile anti-Semitic propaganda leading up to the Holocaust.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib and fellow Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar continue to display blatant signs of anti-Semetic behavior and rhetoric. Both Tlaib and Omar are supporters of the movement to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel (BDS), who continue to have connections to Palestianian terror organizations like Hamas and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Tlaib has recently issued a tweet that included a formal statement condemning any criticism about her comments on the podcast. "Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win," said Tlaib’s tweet.
