Monthly Spotlight: HeroBox on CNN

Monthly Spotlight

HeroBox, our monthly spotlight organization, is taking it upon themselves to improve the care packages sent to our service members, and set their group apart.

One of the best ways to help support a military member while deployed is by sending them a care package full of snacks, books, or toiletries. Troops overseas often can’t go to a store to get these items for months. These items bring our troops a piece of home.

HeroBox doesn’t just send a generic, one-size-fits-all package, rather each box is full of items requested by specific soldiers through a request form online!

Service members serving on submarines need different items than those serving in the desert. They are able to get exactly what they need, from lip balm to Skittles to a sewing kit. Once they even sent a box full of flea collars.

The most important thing they get from these care packages is a morale boost. Many service members say their favorite part of their HeroBox is a note of thanks from the donors back home.
