The New York Times Obtains Trump’s Taxes… but was Trump Wrong?

The New York Times in an obvious attempt to take down republican candidate Donald Trump, obtained his tax returns from 1995.

In them it shows that Mr. Trump lost $916 million which, according to the Times, may have allowed him to avoid paying taxes for up to 18 years.

Hillary’s campaign, who one could assume was advised of this major drop before it occurred, almost instantaneously released a statement, calling this a “bombshell report,” that “reveals the colossal nature of Donald Trump’s past business failures and just how long he may have avoided paying any federal income taxes whatsoever.”

The Times has been very critical of Trump since the beginning of his campaign, trying to find anything they can to end his candidacy, but was this too far?  The Trump campaign thinks so.  They released a letter today decrying the Times’ obtaining the returns as “illegal.”

What we do know for sure is that there was nothing illegal found in Mr. Trump’s tax returns.  Businesses take losses, sometimes in large portions like this… but do you think the New York Times will analyze how the Clintons funneled their money through their non-profit, The Clinton Foundation to help them avoid paying taxes to balance their coverage?  Tell us what you think below… and read the original report from the New York Times here.
